Monday, 11 September 2017

The annual CLSA Investors’ Forum is one of the largest and leading global investment conferences in the asset management industry. In 2017  more than 70 guest speakers will provide key global insights into economics, politics & geopolitics; finance & markets; science, technology & innovation; demographics; health & society; energy and the environment  together with key insights, research and expertise provided by CLSA’s award winning strategists, analysts and economists.

Monday keynote speakers focus on geopolitics, risk and economics.  Asia’s No.1-ranked strategist Christopher Wood and Head of Economic Research Eric Fishwick open our 24th annual CLSA Investors’ Forum with their assessment of the current state of the markets and emerging economies.

Highlights include an address by Lord Mervyn King, former Governor, Bank of England, taking an in- depth look at risk in global financial markets. In the run-up to the global financial crisis, market measures of risk and volatility provided a poor guide to the true underlying risks. Could the same be true now?

In his address, Yanis Varoufakis, former Finance Minister of Greece looks at the reasons to why Greece made headlines and threated global financial stability and why that nation’s prominence in the news is a mere reflection of a global malaise within the European Monetary Union.

Monday sessions also include discussions about markets, technology, Asian finance, blockchain and global security.
